Contents: | Students on the course will work on specific skills of communication necessary for a future in the transport and logistics fields, including telephoning, letter/email writing, presentation skills, and negotiating. Relevant topics such as Supply Chain Management, Production Logistics, Transport Modes, Warehousing, and Sustainability will be covered with plenty of opportunities for class discussions and group work. |

Qualification goals: | Logistics is by definition a global industry. Being able to communicate with business partners and colleagues around the world is only possible with a common language. That lingua franca of today’s Supply Chain Management industry is English. Whether through conference calls with suppliers, emails with 3rd party logistics providers, or presentations and offers to prospective customers, English is a must.
Aims: Students in the course will work on specific skills of communication necessary for a future in the transport and logistics field, including telephoning, letter/email writing, presentation skills, and negotiating. Relevant topics such as Supply Chain Management, Production Logistics, Transport Modes, Warehousing, and Sustainability will be covered with plenty of opportunities for class discussions and group work. The teacher is a native speaking American with an MBA in Logistics. Expectations: Students will take part in an oral simulation in groups at the end of the semester where they will be given a logistics problem and asked to discuss possible solutions and give reasons for the best solution. |
