Ancient Greek is offered in the following specializations and levels:
The Classical Greek course prepares for the state supplementary examination in Greek (“Graecum“). You will learn the classic Attic dialect; Hellenistic and Imperial texts written in Koine Greek are also read. The focus is on excerpts from Plato’s works.

For students who are enrolled in the courses, a separate exam registration at OPAL is not necessary. TU students who wish to take external exams must register with TUDIAS up to 4 weeks before the exam. There is no entitlement to course materials.
In the New Testament Greek (Hellenistic Greek) course, excerpts from the New Testament, texts by early Christian authors and from the context of Christianity are read. Depending on the study regulations, the course is compulsory for students of the Protestant and Catholic religion (except for LA elementary school). If you have the “Graecum” qualification, you do not need this course.
Exams:
All participants for whom the exam is part of the module must register with their examination office.
TU students who take part in external examinations must also register with TUDIAS at least 4 weeks before the start of the examination.
