Here you will find an overview of the languages we offer as part of your studies at TU Dresden.
You will be presented with participation requirements, training content, goals, achievements to be made, teaching materials, etc. for the respective course. This information is intended to help you enroll in the course that is right for you.
Please find out more about the requirements of the compulsory/compulsory optional language training in your study documents or from the student advisory service. Optional participation in our courses is also possible.
Enrollments are exclusively online via OPAL.

Profile courses
B2+ – EBW Introduction to professional and scientific language:
B2+ – EBW 1: Working with technical and science-related texts, use of the media
B2+ – EBW 2: Oral communication in university and work – meetings, conferences, presentations
B2+ – EBW 3: Written communication in university and work, application training
C1 – EBW – Introduction to professional and academic language (advanced):
Alternative to B2+ – EBW with very good previous knowledge such as advanced level Abi course, abroad etc. (note the requirements!):
C1 – EBW – F1: Working with technical and science-related texts, use of the media
C1 – EBW – F2: Oral communication in university and work – meetings, conferences, presentations
C1 – EBW – F3: Written communication in university and work, application training
Profile courses are offered at level B1/B2 (intermediate) and at level C1/C2.

All courses offered can be booked individually. Students with prior knowledge can skip levels. The placement test is mandatory for this (alternatively, presentation of a certificate that shows knowledge of the corresponding level).
